He touches wounds where neither blade nor arrow reach.
Jesus touches wounded people:
He touches scars, thick and hard through years of careful nursing.
Jesus touches wounded people:
He touches broken things, our limbs and smiles and minds and hearts.
Jesus touches wounded people:
Touches tender hurts, too raw, too vulnerable for any other touch.
Jesus touches wounded people:
Touches the loneliness of invisible, isolating hurt.
Jesus touches wounded people:
His touch the gentlest touch, a knowing touch, an understanding touch.
Jesus touches wounded people:
His touch an affirming touch, an urging touch, an encouraging touch.
Jesus touches wounded people:
And touched, their wounds may sting, or ache,
or even shrink away from being touched.
Jesus touches wounded people,
But touched, their wounds begin to heal.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the positive comments. I woke at 6am this morning with the words in my mind. Had to dash downstairs and get them down.
ReplyDeleteGod is gracious, what a wonderful privilege to share in the gifts of his grace.
Just reading The Longest Week by Nick Page - Nick shows just how much Jesus sided with the weak and vulnerable and oppressed.
